& Sunday, January 20 at 4:00 pm, 2008

Shakespeare Miami opens its 2008 season in high style with one of Shakespeare's best loved comedies, Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Shakespeare Miami's Artistic Director, Colleen Stovall. Written in prose in straightforward language, this is considered one of Shakespeare's most accessible plays. As always, Shakespeare in the Park – Miami is FREE. No ticket or reservation is necessary.

Set on the cusp of the 1960's in Louisiana, this production of Much Ado About Nothing swings with music of the era. With a terrific cast of fine actors, featuring Dania Aguero as Beatrice and Noah Levine as the woman hating cad, Benedick, Shakespeare's most famous battle of the sexes is in good hands.

It is so easy to fall in love… unless you are Beatrice and Benedick, who are more interested in a battle of words and witty insults than wedding bands. Falling in love should be easy for the young couple, Hero and Claudio, who are floating towards a storybook wedding. Instead, the not too bright lover, Claudio is tricked into denouncing Hero at the altar as a "Rotten orange" (16th century for "whore") instead of marrying her. Will the lovers get together or will the evil Don John crush their dreams?

Much Ado About Nothing previews on Thursday, January 17 at 8:00 pm. The show is at 8:00 pm on January 18 and 19th and at 4:00 pm on Sunday January 20th.  The public is invited to bring a picnic and a blanket or low lawn chair as only lawn and bleacher seating is available. Dogs are not permitted in the park. The park is open for picnics at 6:30 and the show begins at 8:00 pm on Thursday – Saturday. On Sunday, January 20, the park is open at 2:00pm and the performance begins at 4:00 pm

Free parking is available at the Coconut Grove Convention Center. Paid parking is available on the street near the park and at City of Miami parking garages throughout the Grove.
