The Florida State University Student Theatre Association presents Martin McDonagh's dark comedy A Behanding in Spokane directed by FSU sophomore Cory Dunn. This production will run from February 28 - March 3 in the Augusta Conradi Studio Theatre. Scroll below for photos!

The FSU Student Theatre Association (FSU STA) is a registered student organization that provides resources and educational support to students wanting to put on theatrical productions in Tallahassee. FSU STA possesses a board of undergraduate, graduate, and PhD representatives, as well as supportive faculty and staff, who are there to help students develop their projects.

A Behanding in Spokane possesses themes prevalent in our society such as violence, racism, homophobia and poverty.

Carmichael, played by Zack Cagan, has been searching for his missing left hand for 27 years. Enter two bickering lovebirds Toby and Marilyn, played by Michael Hogan and Jessica Saul respectively, with a hand to sell, and a hotel clerk played by Milo Pfeffer, with an aversion to gunfire.

"I loved the idea of a show where each character is just as corrupt and misleading as the next," A Behanding in Spokane director Cory Dunn remarked. . "I found the idea that potentially none of the characters in this piece is a true protagonist an intriguing factor; also, I believe that the content can open many conversations at the university."

Dunn saw a unique opportunity to expose both uncomfortable and unusual topics of conversation that he believed were necessary for the community to witness.

"FSU students and the Tallahassee community should come see this production because they have never witnessed theatre as unapologetic and unsettling as this show," Dunn expressed.
With a petite, yet undeniably talented cast of four FSU students, a passionate director and a vision of opportunity for further conversation, this will be a fantastic production not to be missed.

Please note: this show may not be appropriate for children under the age of sixteen. This production also features loud noises and graphic images.
