MOVIN' OUT's final performance at the Broward Center is January 15. It returns to South Florida at the Jackie Gleason Theater, January 24-29.

The national tour of MOVIN' OUT, Broadway's smash hit musical conceived, choreographed and directed by Tony Award-winner Twyla Tharp and based on 24 classic songs by pop legend Billy Joel, will celebrate its second anniversary in January of 2006. Opening in Detroit, MI, on January 27, 2004, the national tour of MOVIN' OUT broke eleven box office records in its first two years on the road, and continues to play to packed houses around the country.

During a recent six-week engagement at The Canon Theatre in Toronto, MOVIN' OUT earned rave reviews from the critics who wrote, "Movin' Out is amazing! It will blow you out of your seat, lift your spirits and take your breath away!" (Richard Ouzounian, The Toronto Star). "A poignant musical drama, Movin' Out is in a class of its own!"(Michael Crabb, National Post). 

To kick off the third year on tour, Billy Joel helped ring in the New Year, with a surprise encore performance on opening night (January 7) at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale, FL.   This critic wrote, "Movin' Out is a musical that does not begin. It explodes." Christine Dolen of the Miami Herald wrote,  "Movin' Out is a moving, dazzling piece." 

Told through the direction and choreography of Twyla Tharp and two dozen of Billy Joel's hit songs, MOVIN' OUT is the story of lifelong friends through two turbulent decades that change them and the world around them forever. 

The national tour currently stars Holly Cruikshank, Matthew Dibble, David Gomez, Julieta Gros, Laurie Kanyok, Brendan King, Keith Roberts and Rasta Thomas as principal dancers, and Darren Holden and James Fox as Piano Man/Lead Vocals. 

MOVIN' OUT is produced by James L. Nederlander, Hal Luftig, Scott E. Nederlander, Terry Allen Kramer, Clear Channel Entertainment and Emanuel Azenberg. Musical continuity and supervision is by Stuart Malina. MOVIN' OUT features a scenic design by Santo Loquasto, costume design by Suzy Benzinger, lighting design by Donald Holder and sound design by Brian Ruggles and Peter Fitzgerald.
