There is no important city without its space for great theater. The opening of the first Miami World Theater Festival (MWTF) in October will fill the streets and theaters with shows from the best acting and dance companies of the world, and will bring to university campus debates about the business of representing life from an artistic point of view. The dimension of this event will exceed the local context and will give "world visibility" to Miami, according to George Neary, director of cultural tourism in the Miami-Dade County.

"Making Miami the headquarters of the second most important theater festival in the world" is Carmen Ramia's goal as director of the MWTF; she believes that de most difficult projects are the best. As director of the Ateneo de Caracas, that organizes in the Venezuelan capital one of the biggest theater festivals and the only one in the continent with a Silver Lion from Venice, is considered the "great cultural strategist" of her country, and has the credit to have taught  citizens to love the theater.  "Miami has been a dream since seven years ago. Once we inaugurate the MWTF, we will only have grand festivals", was Ramia's comment.
