Maltz Jupiter Theatre Sets 2016-17 Season

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre is ready to shine with its 2016/17 season, Let Us Entertain You!

The 2016/17 season will begin with The Audience (October 23 - November 6), Peter Morgan's riveting new play that will take audiences behind the walls of Buckingham Palace and into the private chambers of Queen Elizabeth II for meetings with each of her Prime Ministers. We continue with Me and My Girl (November 29 - December 18), the heart-warming dance sensation that follows an unrefined charmer who learns he is heir to the Earl of Hareford. Next up is The Producers (January 10 - 29), Mel Brooks' Tony Award-winning musical phenomenon about a down-on-his-luck producer and his accountant who scheme to produce a Broadway flop. Then join us for Disgraced (February 12 - 26), a provocative and thought-provoking new Pulitzer Prize-winning play that examines the stories we share with our friends, the secrets we tell our lovers and the lies we tell ourselves. Our incredible season ends with the Tony Award-winning hit musical Gypsy (March 21 - April 9), the Broadway smash inspired by the memoirs of the legendary burlesque performer Gypsy Rose Lee.

"We are proud to be producing two plays that appeared on Broadway last season - The Audience and the Pulitzer Prize-winning play Disgraced - in addition to three musicals that have won the hearts of audiences who enjoy great stories," said Andrew Kato, the Theatre's producing artistic director and chief executive. "We will be mounting one of the biggest Broadway box office draws of the millennium, The Producers, as well as Gypsy, a musical that many consider to be one of the greatest shows ever written. Our audiences will enjoy the charming and romantic musical Me and My Girl."

Currently celebrating its 13th Season, the Theatre was recently nominated for 21 Carbonell Awards, South Florida's highest honor for artistic excellence. To celebrate and announce its 2016/17 season, the Theatre held a "Broadway burlesque"-themed cocktail party on February 8 at Seasons 52 in Palm Beach Gardens, featuring performances from burlesque performer Miss Jenna Beth and photo opportunities with performers in Gypsy-themed costumes.

In addition to its season productions (not included in subscriptions), the Theatre will present an exciting lineup of all-new limited engagements and several popular favorites. New shows include the festive holiday sounds of our Christmas Cabaret in the Club Level (December 23); Frank Sinatra's greatest hits with Sinatra Forever (February 3); the high-octane '50s, '60s and '70s rock n' roll experience of The Bronx Wanderers (February 4); and a tribute to The Eagles with Hotel California (March 2).

"In addition to our popular favorites the Capitol Steps' New Years Eve show and Comedy in the Club Level, we're proud to offer an array of brand new concerts, including the stellar tribute groups Shades of Bublé and Orlando Transit Authority: A Tribute to Chicago, as well as Pauly and The Goodfellas Jersey Nights: A Tribute to 'The Jersey Boys' and The Four Seasons and the Motown tribute Magic Moments, all in March. We're also thrilled to present the spectacular Face 2 Face: Tribute to Billy Joel and Elton John and the Jimmy Buffet tribute The Landsharks Band in April."

November will bring an extra-special benefit to the Theatre: He's Got Magic to Do: The Music of Stephen Schwartz (November 12), the Theatre's fourth annual Tony Award winner benefit concert. Winner of four Grammy Awards, three Oscars, four Drama Desk Awards and more, you won't want to miss this legendary composer on stage at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre for a one-night-only rare performance. Backed by a ten-piece orchestra and accompanied by Tony Award winner Debbie Gravitte and Scott Coulter, one of New York's most honored vocalists, Stephen will show you how he makes magic and defies gravity by uplifting you with his music and lyrics.

Eugène Ionesco's critically-acclaimed 1959 absurdist classic Rhinoceros is coming to the stage in August, presented by local high school students as part of the Theatre's Youth Artists' Chair program. This striking play explores the themes of conformity, culture, mass movements and morality.

Patrons may purchase subscriptions for club level premium seats in the Theatre's recently renovated space, The Green Room, and enjoy the stylish lounge and amenities throughout the season. Amenities include spacious 23" seats, a lounge with a private bar and restrooms, one free drink of choice with ticket purchase, panoramic views of the stage and a private entrance and elevator.

Subscriptions begin at $202. Subscribers save 10 percent to 15 percent on single ticket prices. Subscribers also get one fee-free ticket exchange per ticket per show, and advance notice and ability to purchase tickets to limited engagements and other special events. Subscription groups of 20 or more receive an additional discount.
