LA Theatre Works Presents RFK: THE JOURNEY TO JUSTICE At The Phillips Center

In L.A. Theatre Works' audio docudrama RFK: The Journey to Justice, audiences can relive the 1960s and explore the turbulent and intriguing relationship between Robert F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement. A relationship that helped shape the America we know today. RFK: The Journey to Justice comes to the Phillips Center Thursday, February 4, 7:30 p.m.

RFK: The Journey to Justice is a behind-the-scenes story of a high-stakes political drama that dared the country and its citizens to look into the mirror - and change. Robert Kennedy had an early mistrust of Dr. Martin Luther King and his tactics, but became one of the Civil Rights Movement's greatest champions. Through Kennedy's transformative experience the victories, and defeats of that era are retold for a new generation. Commissioned by L.A. Theatre Works and a collaboration of university arts presenters including Stanford and Notre Dame.

Under the leadership of Producing Director, Susan Albert Loewenberg, L.A. Theatre Works (LATW) has been the foremost broadcast and theater company in the United States for more than two decades. Through our two-hour weekly radio show broadcast on NPR stations in 79 markets across the country and aired internationally on the BBC, CBC and many other English language networks, LATW single-handedly brings the finest recorded dramatic literature into the homes of millions each year. The company records the majority of its productions annually in Los Angeles before an enthusiastic and loyal audience of season subscribers. Works by Eugene O'Neill, David Henry Hwang, Athol Fugard, Wendy Wasserstein, Neil Simon, David Mamet, Charlayne Woodard, Arthur Miller, and others have been performed and recorded by LATW with casts of the most critically acclaimed film and stage actors. On the road, LATW has delighted audiences with its unique live radio theater style performances in over 150 small towns and major cities, including New York, Boston, Washington and Chicago.
