Garden Theatre Presents In His Name…We Dance! 12/21
The Garden Theatre and the Centre for Dance & the Performing Arts present In His Name...We Dance! on Monday and Tuesday, December 20-21 with shows at 5pm and 7:30pm both days at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street). Under the leadership of Kathryn Austin, CDPA has been performing this holiday tradition for the past 17 years.
After a successful trip to Panama last December, Kathryn and a few of her dancers plan to return to Central America again this year to bring In His Name....We Dance! to the city of David in the Chiriqui region. Kathryn's dance ministry is called "All God's Children...Gotta Dance!" and, while this mission is in its infancy, the group has made a positive impact on the lives of the children they worked with last year, as well as the travelers themselves. It is Kathryn's hope to establish a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to support an ongoing mission experience in Central America, especially Panama, where the "home-grown" In His Name...We Dance!, will be used as a worship and mission tool to share Christ's love and the union of humanity. Later this month, nine CDPA representatives will travel to Panama (seven being the cast of In His Name...We Dance! in Winter Garden) where they will perform for three church congregations in addition to Bible study and dance worship. The dancers are leaving at 10pm on Christmas Day and will return on New Year's Eve. The total cost of the trip will reach just over $6,000. By attending the Monday, December 20th performances of In His Name...We Dance! at the Garden Theatre, audiences can support the dancers who are traveling to Panama. Proceeds from this day's 5pm and 7:30pm performances will help offset the cost of the trip.ABOUT THE GARDEN THEATRELocated in the heart of historic downtown Winter Garden on Plant Street, the Garden Theatre is a not-for-profit community organization committed to enriching, engaging, and entertaining through creative experiences.
