The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts is proud to announce the ninth annual series of Kravis On Broadway, which will present a record number of seven smash hits from the Great White Way, including several multiple Tony Award® winners.

"The 2016-2017 Kravis On Broadway season boasts a powerful line-up and four of them are making their Kravis Center debut," says Lee Bell, the Kravis Center's Senior Director of Programming. "Best of all, for the first time, we will be presenting as many as seven major shows."

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT TIME

The winner of five Tony Awards® including Best Play, THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME is making its Kravis Center debut. Hailed as "One of the most fully immersive works ever to wallop Broadway" by The New York Times, this is a "dazzling" (Associated Press) adaptation of the play by Simon Stephens, adapted from Mark Haddon's best-selling novel, and directed by Tony® winner Marianne Elliott. Fifteen-year-old Christopher has an extraordinary brain; he is exceptionally intelligent but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. When he falls under suspicion for killing his neighbor's dog, he sets out to identify the true culprit, which leads to an earth-shattering discovery and a journey that will change his life forever. Another Kravis Center debut, BEAUTIFUL - THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation. Featuring a stunning array of beloved songs written by Gerry Goffin/Carole King and Barry Mann/Cynthia Weil, including "I Feel The Earth Move," "One Fine Day," "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," "You've Got A Friend" and the title song. THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

Cameron Mackintosh's spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA premieres at the Kravis Center as part of a brand new North American Tour. Critics are raving that this breathtaking production is "bigger and better than ever before" and features a brilliant new scenic design by Paul Brown, Tony Award®-winning original costume design by Maria Björnson, lighting design by Tony Award®-winner Paule Constable, new choreography by Scott Ambler, and new staging by director Laurence Connor. The production, overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, boasts many exciting special effects including the show's legendary chandelier. Making its Kravis Center debut, KINKY BOOTS is Broadway's huge-hearted, high-heeled hit! With songs by Grammy® and Tony® winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, this joyous musical celebration is about the friendships we discover, and the belief that you can change the world when you change your mind. Inspired by true events, KINKY BOOTS takes you from a gentlemen's shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father's expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory's future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos. THE SOUND OF MUSIC

"The hills are alive" again in this brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, directed by three-time Tony Award® winner Jack O'Brien and hailed by the Los Angeles Times as "Sparkling, fresh and lively." The beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony®, Grammy® and Academy Award® winning Best Score, including "My Favorite Things," "Edelweiss" and the title song. This family favorite enjoyed extraordinary success a live television production when "The Sound of Music Live!" aired on NBC in December, 2013 and was seen by over 44 million people. 2015 marked the 50th anniversary of the film version, which continues to be the most successful movie musical in history.

Subscribers for the Kravis On Broadway series will receive their renewals mid March. Kravis Center donors will receive information on becoming a Kravis On Broadway subscriber for the 2016-2017 series mid May, and tickets will go on sale to the general public in July.
