The Orpheum Welcomes GIGGLE, GIGGLE, QUACK, 11/23

When The Farmer's away, the animals will play! Turning the barnyard upside down this year, the hilariously funny and colorful musical, Giggle, Giggle, Quack will make its Memphis premiere at The Orpheum Theatre on Tuesday, November 23rd at 6:00 p.m.  With pre-show entertainment including a petting zoo and guest appearance by the famous Peabody ducks, this show promises fun for the entire family!

Produced by the award winning Dallas Children's Theater (DCT),Giggle, Giggle, Quack  picks up where Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type leaves off. Good ol' Farmer Brown has had a lot more to deal with than your average farmer. With his animals on strike, he has had enough! He decides to take a vacation and leave his city-slicker brother in charge with specific directions on how to care for the animals, including the important warning "Keep an eye on Duck. He's Trouble." But when the instructions fall into the wrong hands (or wings!), Duck takes the opportunity to do a little re-writing - with a few creative embellishments that result in madcap musical mutiny. Soon it's pizza for the hen, bubble baths for the pig and movie night for the cow! Will the Duck be discovered as the true author? What will happen when Farmer Brown returns? Excitement is in store when the animals have free range of The Farm!
 
Lively songs forward the story, provide an in-depth look at each character and bring the barnyard to life with showbiz pizzazz. In this show, Duck's typewriter is replaced by a pencil, which becomes a metaphor for the endless possibilities of imagination ("Golden Pencil"). A show stopper number ("Pizza Baby"), a sweet cream lullaby ("Nothin's Gonna Hurt You") and a lyrical bubble bath ballet ("Pretty Little Pig") allows each animal to take the stage for a moment to shine.
 
This thrilling and imaginative musical for young audiences highlights respect, cooperation, and the value of friendship. Giggle, Giggle, Quack is based on the popular barnyard series of books by Doreen Cronin which includes Click, Click, Moo: Cows that Type and Dooby, Dooby Moo. Fans of the book will delight in the expanded Broadway style adaptation with a swinging score and grown-ups will definitely chuckle along!
