It’s 1981, and legendary agent to the stars, Sue Mengers, invites us into her swank Beverly Hills home on the very day her biggest client (and friend) Barbra Streisand, dumps her. As Sue anxiously waits by the phone for a make-up call, she reflects on her extraordinary life; from fleeing Nazi Germany as a child, to learning English from Bette Davis while working at a movie theater. After securing a receptionist job at the famed William Morris Agency, she was able to strike out in a predominantly male field to become a powerhouse agent with a massive roster of Hollywood’s top talent. Brimming with witty one liners and hysterical anecdotes, this hilariously funny and poignant piece is not to be missed. After a triumphant run on Broadway starring Bette Midler in 2013, Good Theater favorite Lynne McGhee takes on the role for one weekend under the direction of the multi-talented Grace Bauer.
