Next Edition of Broadway at Good Theater to Run 12/3-7

Good Theater, the professional company in residence at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, presents its 11th edition of Broadway at Good Theater December 3-7. These annual fundraising concerts combine Broadway tunes with holiday favorites for a sensational musical event.

For the first time in its history, Broadway at Good Theater has a theme - a salute to the 1960's. All of the Broadway songs come from shows that opened on Broadway during that decade. Plus all of the holiday music debuted during the 1960's as well.

This year's Broadway guest stars are Aaron Ramey and Christopher A. Pecoraro. Aaron Ramey has been seen on Broadway in The Bridges of Madison County (last year's Tony winner for Best Score), Curtains, Young Frankenstein and Thoroughly Modern Millie. He has also starred in many regional productions including productions of Miss Saigon, The Visit and 1776. Ramey will bring his big voice to such songs as "The Lees of Old Virginia," "My Cup Runneth Over" from I Do! I Do! and "The Impossible Dream."

Pecoraro is a Westbrook native who starred in last year's edition of Broadway at Good Theater. He performed on Broadway as Chris in Miss Saigon, played Marius in Les Miz and was featured in Stephen Sondheim's Passion. Chris will wrap his warm vocals around "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year," a medley of songs from The Fantasticks from his recently recorded CD, and "Who Can I Turn To" from Roar of the Greasepaint. He will join two of our female performers for a trio from Zorba.

Broadway at Good Theater will feature performers Kelly Caufield, Marie Dittmer, Jim Gaddis, Matt LaBerge, Jennifer Manzi MacLeod, Lynne McGhee, Jen Means, Halim Moldavor, Amy Roche, Benjamin Row, Marissa Sheltra, Jessica Thompson, Steve Underwood, and Michael Wood. Victoria Stubbs is the musical director/pianist/arranger. She is joined by John Lawson on bass and Bill Manning on percussion. Justin Cote is the set decorator and stage manager. Michael Lynch is the other stage manager and company manager. Iain Odlin designs the lighting. Steve Underwood is the technical director and Craig Robinson is the assistant technical director.

Brian P. Allen, Good Theater's Executive & Artistic Director, has conceived the concert and serves as the director of the show. "I've been working on this show for over a year - adding songs, taking songs out, fine tuning toward the perfect mix of songs for this two hour concert event. I love the 1960's. It was the last decade of the Golden Age of Broadway. In our concert we start with The Sound of Music and end with Hair."

Performances for Broadway at Good Theater are: Wednesday December 3 at 7:00 ($25), Thursday December 4 at 7:00 (sold out), Friday December 5 at 7:30 ($30), Saturday December 6 at 3:00 ($30) & 7:30 ($40) and Sunday December 7 at 2:00 ($40). Tickets may be purchased on line by going to the Good Theater website www.goodtheater.com or calling the Good Theater box office at 207-885-5883. These concerts tend to sell out quickly.

Shows represented in the Broadway at Good Theater concert include: Oliver, Stop the World I Want to Get Off, Do I Hear a Waltz, No Strings, On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, She Loves Me, Fiddler on the Roof, Hello Dolly, Fiorello, 110 in the Shade, 1776, Mame, Carnival, Promises, Promises, I Had a Ball, Bye Bye Birdie, It's a Bird It's a Plane It's Superman, Fade Out Fade In, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Sweet Charity, Cabaret, and Man of LaMancha. Holiday songs scheduled to be performed include: "Christmas Baby Please Come Home," "Someday at Christmas," "We Need a Little Christmas," "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas," "Little Saint Nick," and "Please Come Home for Christmas."

Good Theater opened its season with an acclaimed production of The Rainmaker followed by the delightful Mrs. Manner. In the new year the company will offer the Maine premieres of Regrets Only and The Other Place and the world premiere of Legends: The Music of Barbra Streisand.
