Rabih Abou-Khalil has emerged on the European and international art scene as one of the greatest masters of the oud, lute, carrying in its traditional Arabic sounds no less than three thousand years of Arab and Islamic music. But it is also polymorphic in the world of contemporary jazz Abou-Khalil has built a series of sumptuous album, a very personal, both sensual and meditative, formally sophisticated and seductive melody immediately. Rabih Abou-Khalil has become justly famous for his music openly Métis, constantly seeking the ideal balance between sensuality, emotion and formal experimentation.
The musical adventure of Abou-Khalil has a rich variety of collaborations: the Kronos Quartet in the 90's, Kenny Wheeler and the Balanescu Quartet for the superb album "Blue Camel" and "Arabian Waltz", cellist Vincent Courtois , the violinist Dominique Others Pifarely one work to another he built a kaleidoscopic jazz linking ascension, power, velocity, easing, as the movements of a symphony nameless diversions twirling.
