Winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, SPRING AWAKENING is the groundbreaking rock musical that took Broadway by storm and forever changed what musical theatre could be. With a soaring score by Grammy and Tony Award winner Duncan Sheik and a searingly emotional book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Steven Sater, it became a theatrical phenomenon celebrated for its bold storytelling, explosive energy, and unforgettable music. Entertainment Weekly called it “the most gorgeous Broadway score this decade.”

Based on Frank Wedekind’s groundbreaking and once-banned play, SPRING AWAKENING takes us to 1891 Germany, where grown-ups hold all the cards and young people are desperate for answers in a world determined to keep them in the dark. Headstrong Melchior, innocent Wendla, anxious Moritz, and their friends search for truth, connection, freedom, and their own identities as they navigate the exhilarating, confusing, and painful journey from adolescence to adulthood.

And then the music explodes. The world of 1891 collides with a fiercely contemporary rock score, giving voice to everything these young people have been forbidden to say. Bold, raw, passionate, heartbreaking, and exhilarating, SPRING AWAKENING is a celebration of youth and rebellion, a cry to be heard, and a theatrical experience that doesn’t whisper — it roars.

Spring Awakening is a powerful rock musical that explores the challenges of adolescence through mature subject matter. This production contains strong language, discussions of sexuality, simulated intimacy, depictions of sexual assault, pregnancy, abortion, suicide, child abuse, and other sensitive themes. While presented thoughtfully and artistically, these topics may not be appropriate for younger audiences.

Recommended for mature audiences ages 15+.
This production contains no nudity.
