Silhouettes Of Scarlet at The Regent

Silhouettes of Scarlet is a theater-concert experience that weaves live orchestra and band, hip-hop lyricism, spoken word, and theatrical storytelling into an intimate exploration of grief, memory, love, and survival.

The show centers on James, a Black man reckoning with the sudden loss of his father while caught in the aftermath of an emotionally destructive relationship. Moving fluidly between confession and chorus, the piece traces how grief lingers in the body and how music, memory, and community become pathways toward healing.

Developed through multiple sold-out and large-scale presentations across Los Angeles, Silhouettes of Scarlet is a modular work that shifts with each space and audience it encounters. Performed in English, Spanish, and Tagalog, it reflects the cultural intersections of the city itself while honoring Black and Brown storytelling traditions. Neither a traditional musical nor a concert alone, Silhouettes of Scarlet lives in the space between where art becomes both sanctuary and shared experience.
