Get carried away by the harrowing adventures of Quasimodo and Esmeralda when The Hunchback of Notre Dame swings into Fred Kavli Theatre. This epic Disney musical's all set to ring in its Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza premiere.
You'll be whisked back to the perilous streets of 15th-century Paris, where wicked men in power pull the strings and heroes appear where you'd least expect them. Based on the classic novel by Victor Hugo, with music from the animated feature's Academy Award-nominated score, the production is enhanced with new songs by two acclaimed musical theatre legends: Alan Menken and Steven Schwartz.
The theatrical production embraces the story by featuring verbatim passages from Hugo's gothic novel. Plus, in true 5-Star Theatricals fashion, you'll experience an excellent "Broadway" quality production, with a full professional live orchestra.
Ages: Parental guidance suggested, mature themes.
5-STAR THEATRICALS has announced the first show of its 2023-2024 season, the Tony Award winning, RAGTIME: THE MUSICAL, book by Terrence McNally, music by Lynn Ahrens, lyrics by Steven Flaherty, conductor and musical direction by Tom Griffin, choreography by Michelle Elkin and directed by Jeffrey Polk.
Winners have been announced for the 2020 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Awards - which were back bigger than ever, celebrating the best in local theatre of the past decade!
This Spotlight focuses on Elizabeth Adabale, a dedicated musical theatre entertainer who studied public health and theatre at the University of Southern California and taught high school biology with Teach for America, until the stage pulled her elsewhere. I first met her in 2013 when she began to audition for productions in Los Angeles and I knew with her talent and stage presence, Elizabeth was destined to a?oehit it biga?? on stages across the country! I reached out to her to find out how is she dealing with the cancellation of her national tour in 'The Color Purple' after 111 performances.
