Jonas Woolverton, star of Las Vegas productions such as Cirque du Soleil's "Zumanity" Spiegelworld's "Superfrico" and world-wide fringe festival favorite, "Puppetry of the Penis" brings his twisted comedic and cirque talents to the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2026.
In "The McEnfro Show" Jonas Woolverton is Jonas McEnfro: a bizarro world, alternate reality, multiverse doppelgänger, loosely inspired by the notoriously hot-tempered tennis legend, John McEnroe. Woolverton incorporates two decades of performing Cyr Wheel, clown, burlesque, juggling and comedy into a raucously participatory 1 hour, one-man show. Featuring an epic opening theme song composed by legendary DJ, Mix Master Mike of The Beastie Boys.
Writer, Director & Performer Jonas Woolverton: "My earliest core sports memory as a kid growing up in New York City was a highlight reel on TV of John McEnroe have an epic crash out during a match over a call. As a six year old I was blown away that a grown man could have a temper tantrum like that. Was it acting? Was it real? I had so many questions. Flash forward a few decades in my exploration of clown I found my biggest laughs came from becoming apoplectic like my hero. When audiences watch McEnfro irrationally lose his sh*t, instead of being terrifying -- it's insanely hilarious."
Audiences who will enjoy this show are fans of Cirque du Soleil & Spiegelworld shows, 70s/80s Tennis, Sacha Baron Cohen's "Ali G Show" & "Who Is America?", Danny McBride's "Eastbound & Down" Weirdlesque burlesque, clown, improv and physical comedy.
Performances will take place June 6, 12, 14, 21 and 26 at the Zephyr Theatre located at 7456 Melrose Avenue. Tickets can be purchased at the Hollywood Fringe's website.
