THE BLOODHOUND Immersive Experience To Be Presented By USC Themed Entertainment
The performance is a family friendly immersive experience set in a New Orleans jazz bar in the 1920’s.
The University of Southern California’s Themed Entertainment program will present “The Bloodhound,” a fully immersive theatrical production. Part of the larger USC School of Cinematic Arts, the program’s event will take place at the USC Cinematic Arts Complex.
“The Bloodhound” is a family friendly immersive experience set in a New Orleans jazz bar in the 1920’s where audience members work together with the cast to fight a common, monstrous enemy. The experience blends storytelling, audience participation, and moral ambiguity as the audience members realize they’ve been manipulated into a deadly trap. The horror-themed theatrical production is a collaboration between students and faculty of the USC School of Cinematic Arts, USC School of Architecture and USC School of Dramatic Arts.
“We are excited that our senior student has agreed to partner with a number of wonderful artists on this collaborative production,” said Joseph Garlington, Adjunct Associate Professor of Interactive Media & Games Division at the USC School of Cinematic Arts and former Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering’s Interactive Studio. “The USC Themed Entertainment program works with the idea that what differentiates our art form from other art forms is the built worlds that we take guests into. This is an example of a cross-disciplinary artwork that pulls together the place-making of themed
entertainment with the dramatic structure of an interactive play."
Executive Producer and Director, Talon Cruz, a graduating Senior in USC’s Themed Entertainment program who developed the show’s narrative story shared, “When I was designing The Bloodhound, the first thing I knew was that I wanted to do something unexpected, which grew into doing an immersive dining experience, along with a distinct setting and a sense of danger. The theatrical aspect came from a desire to use my own experiences and expertise, having originally been a theater major before switching to themed entertainment.”
The “The Bloodhound” cast and crew include Clancy "B.C." Booker, Dylan Burlingame, Adelin Conanan, Talon Cruz, Kayden Cutchins, Moustafa El-Mahdy, Sammy "Silver" Hillery, Charli Lawrence, Ava Lorelei, and Haydon Williams.
Tickets for “The Bloodhound” are free to the community and available online here. Performances run hourly May 12 from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. PDT at USC Cinematic Arts Complex located at 900 West 34th Street, Los Angeles, CA. Tickets are free and available for reservation online.
