Miley Cyrus performed her newest single, "Party in the U.S.A.," at TEEN CHOICE 2009 last night. The performance filled show airs tonight, Monday, Aug. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Additionally, the casts of "Twilight" (Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed and Kellan Lutz) and FOX's new comedy series GLEE (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Jenna Ushkowitz, Chris Colfer,Amber Riley and Kevin McHale) will also guest on the two-hour special.
Hosted by the Jonas Brothers, TEEN CHOICE celebrates the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion. The coolest stars received the coveted Teen Choice Surfboard awards in categories such as Choice Hotties, Choice Movie Liplock and Choice Twit.
Additionally Britney Spears, Zac Efron, Megan Fox, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Morrison, Keke Palmer, Alexis Bledel, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester, Ellen DeGeneres and Ashley Tisdale will join previously announced participants Kristen Bell, Jordana Brewster, Vanessa Hudgens, Shawn Johnson, Daren Kagasoff, Kim Kardashian, Jennette McCurdy and Emma Roberts.
Miley Cyrus is a multi-platinum recording artist and the youngest recording artist ever to have four No. 1 albums in less than three years. She stars in the hit cable series "Hannah Montana," currently in its third season, and recently appeared in "Hannah Montana: The Movie," which topped the box office its opening weekend. She is the author of "Miles to Go," the best-selling story of her record-setting successes in TV, music and film and her rise to global fame from her small-town Tennessee roots. In addition, Cyrus and designer Max Azria of apparel house BCBGMAXAZRIAGROUP, Inc. have teamed up to create Miley Cyrus & Max Azria, a new apparel line launching this August that will be sold exclusively in Walmart stores. Cyrus is currently filming "The Last Song," written by Nicholas Sparks, and is set to embark on a 45-city North American tour this September.
TEEN CHOICE 2009 is executive-produced by Bob Bain ("Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards") and Michael Burg. Paul Flattery serves as producer, Kelly Brock is co-producer and Greg Sills serves as supervising producer.
