LA Opera Announces 2010-2011 Schedule

The LA Opera's 2010-2011 season has been announced, and will begin on September 23 with the world premiere of Daniel Catán's IL POSTINO (THE POSTMAN). IL POSTINO will play through October 16 and star Placido Domingo. Ron Daniels will direct with scene and costume design by Riccardo Hernandez (Tony Award winner) and lighting design by Jennifer Tipton (two-time Tony Award winner).
Other upcoming performances at the LA Opera include Mark Lamos' staging of Verdi's RIGOLETTO, featuring scenic design by two-time Tony Award winner Michael Yeargan. And Jonathan Kent's staging of Benjamin Britten's THE TURN OF THE SCREW starring Patricia Racette. A revival of LE NOZZE DI FIGARO (September 26-October 17), directed by Ian Judge and featuring Daniel Okulitch will play from September 26-October 17. Wagner's LOHENGRIN with Ben Heppner will play from November 20-December 12, and Rossini's ILL TURCO IN ITALIAA will play from February 19-March 13).Videos
