DOOM GIRLS Will Come to Broadwater BlackBox Theatre in June
KADM Productions brings writer Jenni Chiaramonte's Hollywood Fringe selection to Hollywood
New comedy Doom Girls, written by Jenni Chiaramonte and produced and directed by Matt Morillo, will come to Broadwater BlackBox Theatre in June. Performances will run June 8-27 at 6322 Santa Monica Blvd., Hollywood, CA 90038.
Three extraterrestrial secret agents-who are also bandmates-are called back into action to track down a dangerous fugitive hiding on the hellish planet known as Earth. Even worse, he's disguised as... a podcast bro! It's up to these secret agent/rockstar beings to save the universe...again!
The cast includes Jenni Chiaramonte, Cynthia Dane, Tamika Katon-Donegal, Nina Rancel and Alex Sarno.
Jenni Chiaramonte is the playwright and associate producer. She appeared earlier this year in Sweet Air, to great reviews. She also co-wrote, produced and starred in An Excuse to Behave Badly, earning her an Encore! Producers Award for the Fringe in 2019. Beyond theatre, she has appeared in numerous web series, independent films, and television projects for Lifetime and the ID Channel. In 2020, Chiaramonte's short film Alone Time, which was shot entirely on an IPhone, was later selected for multiple festivals and earned nominations for Best Comedy and Best Short Film. Jenni is also a singer-songwriter, vocalist, and classically trained musician.
Matt Morillo is producer and director. He is also a playwright. His previous plays include the Hollywood Fringe Festival award winning Katy and Jennifer and If We Run, as well as international award winning hits, All Aboard the Marriage Hearse, Angry Young Women in Low-Rise Jeans with High Class Issues, and The Inventor and the Escort. He co-produced The Girl Who Jumped Off the Hollywood Sign in the 2017 Hollywood Fringe. He has also written, produced and directed a number of independent films, including his award-winning Maid of Honor and the web series Mister Harmac. Also a stand up-comedian, he has appeared frequently at the Comedy Store.
