Collaborative Artists Ensemble has announced their Fall production, a new adaptation of Ibsen's "The Lady from the Sea". Directed by Steve Jarrard, the production will open tonight, October 30th for a limited engagement.

Raised in a lighthouse, a childhood spent largely in solitude, a lifelong bond with the water, a marriage to a doting husband and visits from a mysterious stranger lead to a life of quiet chaos for Ellida, the Lady from the Sea. In one of his most complex plays, Henrik Ibsen blends his trademark naturalism with a mix of Nordic folklore and dreamlike symbolism to explore the complex nature of love and marriage. Against the backdrop of the sea, and perhaps from it, come ghosts of the past, threatening to tear Eliida's family apart.

Collaborative Artists Ensemble is currently in its 8th Season of productions, having previous produced the West Coast Premieres of: "Lost Generation" by Don Nigro, "Through A Glass Darkly" by Jenny Worton/Ingmar Bergman, "A Strange Disappearance of Bees" by Elena Hartwell and "The Square Root of Wonderful" by Carson McCullers. Other productions include: "The Food Chain" by Nicky Silver, "How I Learned to Drive" by Paula Vogel and "Blood Relations" by Sharon Pollock.

The cast of The Lady from the Sea will feature (in alphabetical order) Sverre Soenderland Almedal, Dan Belzer, Richard French, Samantha Hodges, Connor Linnerooth, Marielle Nilsson, Steve Voldseth and Meg Wallace. The set design is by Steve Jarrard, and the stage manager is Michelle Prudente.
