CROSSING DELANCEY To Play Theatre Forty In Beverly Hills

Theatre Forty will present CROSSING DELANCEY, the romantic comedy by Susan Sandler, running May 21 through June 21 at the Mary Levin Cutler Theatre in Beverly Hills.

Directed by Jonathan Fahn and produced by David Hunt Stafford, the play follows Isabel, a bookstore employee living in Manhattan, whose life is shaped by her visits to her grandmother on the Lower East Side. When a matchmaker introduces her to Sam, a pickle vendor, Isabel’s initial hesitation gives way to an unexpected romance.

Sandler, who also wrote the film adaptation of Crossing Delancey, is a professor at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Her additional works include Under the Bed, The Renovation, The Moaner, Kinfolks and Mountain Music, and Tots.

The cast will feature Ari Hagler, Matt Landig, Sharron Shayne, Holly Sidell, and Amy Tolsky.
