Bianca Del Rio to Host 2015 Project NunwayLA: Tarot

Project NunwayLA proudly announces this year's Host - the winner of RuPaul's Drag Race Season Six - Bianca Del Rio. Back for another year of amazing fashion, art, and star-studded guest performances, Project NunwayLA returns with this fabulous annual event for charity, An Outrageous Designer Competition & Fashion Show, featuring over 30 talented Designers!

Bianca Del Rio is the season six reigning winner of Logo TV's hit series RuPaul's Drag Race. In December 2014, she received the Best New Television Personality award from NewNowNext. Global accolades along with a Live Nation comedy tour brought the beloved New Orleans entertainer once known as Roy Haylock into the scrutinizing public eye. Gigs throughout the world, a commercial debut for Starbucks, critical acclaim by The New York Times, even an interview on the late Joan Rivers' popular show In Bed with Joan, followed. Years of dedication and hard work paid off for this controversial comedian and drag queen.

A self-proclaimed "clown in a dress" with a raw and racy edge, Bianca Del Rio is a costume designer and theatrical performer, as well as the familiar wisecracking artist that emerged on the New Orleans nightclub circuit in 1996 and garnered awards. Long before her success on RuPaul's Drag Race, she appeared on MTV, A&E, and the Travel Channel. A staple at gay Mardi Gras events and private parties, this comfortable niche soon opened wide to include mainstream venues and straight audiences on an international level.

A benefit for - BEING ALIVE LA & LIFE GROUP LA - Project NunwayLA returns and celebrates National Coming Out Day with another fabulous event for charity - featuring over 30 talented Designers, including: Hollywood veterans, professional designers, and students alike.
This year's event takes place at the beginning of LA Fashion Week in the Historic District of Downtown Los Angeles at The Mayan Theatre, as a lavish backdrop to this one-of-a-kind fashion show and designer competition - ready to entertain sold out crowds.

Each year, and in the tradition of Project Runway, Project NunwayLA challenges Designer Contestants to create outrageous fashion based on a theme. This year's theme: TAROT inspires designers to embody the mysteries of the Tarot, while bringing to life avant-garde visuals, creativity, and over-the-top fashionable art. Designers are encouraged to create outfits with little to no cash, putting their creative visions to great task, while stretching the possibilities beyond the obvious.
