TheatreSquared to Present RAPTURE, BLISTER, BURN

The acclaimed modern comedy Rapture, Blister, Burn, a Pulitzer Prize finalist, will take the stage at TheatreSquared beginning March 31. Sparks fly in this "intensely smart, immensely funny" (The New York Times) new comedy. After grad school, Catherine built a career as a rock-star academic; Gwen built a life with her family. Decades later, a dangerous game begins as each tries to claim the other's territory. Director Shana Gold (Proof, 4,000 Miles) returns to T2 to direct an all-star cast including T2 Associate Artistic Director Amy Herzberg, Jonny Schremmer (Proof), Stephanie Bignault, and Broadway veterans Joan Porter and Michael James Reed. Performances are scheduled for March 31-April 24, 2016 at Walton Arts Center's Nadine Baum Studios (505 W. Center St.), with tickets available at theatre2.org or by phone at (479) 443-5600.

Rapture, Blister, Burn was acclaimed in its prizewinning New York debut, and in subsequent productions across the country. The Washington Post described "an explosive comedy-engagingly up-to-the-minute with unexpected twists."

The lead creative team for Rapture, Blister, Burn includes scenic designer Kent Goetz, lighting designer Shawn D. Irish, sound designer Will Eubanks, costume designer Ruby Kemph, properties manager Brodie Jasch, technical director Josh Tillotson, and stage manager David Loranca.

Director Shana Gold returns to T2 to stage Rapture, Blister, Burn, with past credits including Proof, 4,000 Miles, Reasons to be Pretty and Underneath the Lintel. Her work has been seen in New York at The Kennedy Center, New York Theatre Workshop, New Georges, Urban Stages, The Public Theatre, The Culture Project, Vassar College, New York Stage and Film, Epic Theatre, MCC, New Dramatists Playhouse, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club, and more. Gold's production of John Walch's Circumference of a Squirrel received the Austin Critics Table Award for Best New Play and Best Director and the Austin Chronicle's Top Ten List.
