Based on actual interviews with residents of Reading, Pennsylvania, Lynn Nottage brings her breathtaking storytelling to characters and situations that have become too common in the heart of America. At the local hangout for factory workers, resentment explodes when one of the regulars gets a promotion and delivers the news that the factory is cutting jobs and wages by 60%. A strike is imminent.
