Conductor and pianist Asher Fisch presents a buffet of works by three composers with Viennese connections. Gustav Mahler’s Blumine, the gorgeous “extra” movement for his First Symphony, opens the program. Maestro Fisch performs as soloist and conductor for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 17, and Arnold Schoenberg’s dynamic orchestration of Brahms’s elegant and gypsy-flavored Piano Quartet brings the concert to an energetic close.
