The Kansas City Actors Theatre, in partnership with The Edward Earls Legacy Fund, is offering first-time subscribers under 30 a first-of-its-kind, five-show subscription to its 2017-2018 season for just $45. This "Next Generation" subscription is being offered to help expand access to professional theatre in Kansas City for younger patrons by drastically reducing the cost of subscribing.

National World War I Museum and Memorial Receives $300k Gift from William T. Kemper Foundation

Kansas City's philanthropic community continues to respond generously to the National World War I Museum and Memorial. The William T. Kemper Foundation has pledged $300,000 in support of the Museum's effort to preserve precious objects and documents from the Great War as well as to make them accessible online. The grant also assists with expenses for additional staff and critical digitization equipment.

The Coterie Theatre and the White Theatre at "The J," the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City, will come together to co-produce Disney's Newsies for a limited run in the Summer 2018. The show will mark The Coterie and The J's first collaboration, as well as the Kansas City region's first locally-produced production of Newsies. It will be co-directed by Coterie Producing Artistic Director, Jeff Church, and Jerry Jay Cranford, who will also serve as choreographer, with musical direction by Pam Williamson, veteran of 10 musicals at The J. Newsies will feature a cast of all-local professional and non-professional adult and youth actors, and will be performed live on stage at the White Theatre at The J, July 7-29, 2018.

Union Station, KCPT and The Bridge have announced a partnership that will introduce a dedicated kidszone and Today night concert featuring rhythm and blues musician Anderson East to the 7th Annual Maker Faire Kansas City, June 24 - 25, at Union Station. Both the KCPT kidszone and Today night concert are new featured attractions to this year's Faire and will be one of the first events hosted in the spacious, new outdoor Haverty Family Yards.
