Shout Hallelujah! SISTER ACT Comes to The Barn Players This Fall
SISTER ACT, the hilarious, five-time Tony-nominated musical smash will be rocking the rafters at the Barn Players this fall, from Friday November 3rd through Sunday, November 19th, 2017. SISTER ACT is guaranteed to delight your entire family.
Here's the lowdown on this heavenly hit. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier accidentally observes a murder, she is put into protective custody disguised as a nun in a convent. There she uses her killer voice to inspire their choir and breathes new life into the church, but in doing so blows her cover. Soon the angry gang is after her and she's a nun-on-the-run... who surprisingly finds both safety and salvation in her newly found sisterhood.
SISTER ACT features an original score with music by multi-award-winning composer Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, and book by Cheri and Bill Steinkellner, with additional material by Douglas Carter Beane. It is based on the Touchstone Pictures motion picture SISTER ACT, screenplay by Joseph Howard.
SISTER ACT is being directed and choreographed by Barn Players veteran Guy Gardner, with musical direction by James Levy. Leading roles in SISTER ACT have been taken by Ruth Bigus, Graham Fairleigh, Allison Jones, Vicki Kerns, Nathaniel Rasson, D. Craig Robinson, Ramsey Self, and Victoria Strafuss. Ensemble support is being provided by Bridget Angles, Whitney Armstrong, Josh Arellano, Corinne Bakker Nancy Berardo, Renee Blinn, Emily Bridges, Mandy Dulny, Emmy Hadley, Anne Haines, Mason Hoyt, Joy Richardson, Julian Rivera, Natalie Rothfusz, and Cassie Sutherland.
WHAT, WHEN & WHERE: SISTER ACT is presented by the Barn Players. Friday, November 3rd through Sunday, November 19th, 2017. Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm, Sunday matinees at 2:00pm. Note: Due to popular demand, additional performances have been added on Thursday, November 9th, and Thursday, November 16th, both at 7:30 p.m. Industry Night will be Monday, November 13th, at 7:30pm.
