Position Summary The Development & Member Services Associate is an integral member of the Development team, supporting the Lortel's fundraising efforts while providing exceptional stewardship to members. This position combines membership management, development operations, and administrative support to help strengthen the Lortel's philanthropic community. Working closely with Lortel staff and consultants, the Associate will manage membership benefits, maintain accurate membership records, assist with special events, and help ensure an outstanding experience for supporters throughout the year. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for Lucille Lortel Members. Manage membership enrollment, renewals, upgrades, and benefit fulfillment. Coordinate timely member communications throughout the year, including personalized acknowledgments, creation of specific receipts, solicitations, invitations, and more. Welcome and assist members before performances, helping facilitate member events, receptions, and reserved benefits (a key component of the role includes regular evening and occasional weekend hours to support performances, donor events, and other programs). Respond promptly to member and donor inquiries, providing customer service, troubleshooting, and resolving issues as needed. Manage RSVPs and ticketing for house seats and special events, particularly for higher-level donors and prospects. Maintain organized membership files, calendars, and project timelines, which include supporting accurate donor record-keeping on the database Support the overall stewardship efforts, including donor crediting. Qualifications 1–3 years of experience in development, fundraising, membership, customer service, nonprofit administration, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing outstanding member service. Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. Experience with Audience View Unlimited or CRM systems is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
