Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Production Manager/TD, the Technical Coordinator will provide day to day production and technical support and supervision of the rentals at the A.R.T./New York Theatres. Additional duties will include managing and maintaining building systems and equipment (including lighting, audio, and video), and carrying out production and technical duties for A.R.T./New York programming as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities and Expectations
Theatres and Facility Management:
-Maintain both theatres in a professional manner suitable for corporate, theatrical and other member rentals.
-Perform minor build-out projects and facility repairs as needed.
-Assist the PM/TD in tracking status of permits including Public Assembly and TPAs, Temporary Certificate of Occupancy, etc.
-Create and maintain/update theatrical drawings and technical specs for both theatres and the general facility.
-Perform in-house and/or oversee contracted maintenance and repairs on theatrical equipment, and maintain an accurate and organized inventory
-Assist PM/TD with managing building systems including HVAC, fire systems, and plumbing
Production Planning and Management:
-Disseminate materials and technical information about the A.R.T./New York Theatres to renters
-Monitor and exemplify safe work practices. Stay abreast of technical advances in the field of entertainment technology.
-Ensure proper use of all A.R.T./New York technical equipment, including audio, video and lighting.
-Create and maintain/update various checklists for: Pre-show/post-show open and close procedures, fire logs, equipment maintenance, etc.
-Ensure policies and procedures for space use are being followed.
Theatre Operations:
-Maintain F-03 Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel certificate.
-Maintain/update various checklists for: Pre-show/post-show open and close procedures, fire logs, equipment maintenance, etc.
-Assist in tracking of production expense budget lines including equipment purchase
-Oversee load-ins, technical rehearsals, performances and load outs as required.
-Active participation in Ethics and Accountability Committee meetings, subcommittees, staff working sessions and trainings, and ongoing evolution toward Interdisciplinary Teams.
Salary: 50,000/yr
