Acting & Dance Teaching Artist

Music Theatre of CT (MTC) in Norwalk, a professional theatre and conservatory, is urgently looking for a teaching artist for this fall term beginning September 29th through December 8th.  To apply please send your resume to admin@musictheatreofct.com. Teaching Artist would teach the first two or all three of the following classes on Mondays:

Theatre Playground (Kindergarten) / 4:15–5:00 PM

Musical Theatre Jazz 2 (Grades 3–5) / 5:30–6:30 PM

Musical Theatre Jazz 3 (Grades 6–8) / 7:00–8:00 PM Class Overviews

Theatre Playground (Kindergarten) – A fun, low-pressure introduction to acting where students learn basic performance skills through storytelling, improvisation, and teamwork.

Musical Theatre Jazz 2 & 3 (Grades 3–5 and 6–8) – High-energy classes blending jazz dance technique with theatrical storytelling, helping students grow as performers while exploring Broadway choreography. Qualifications:

MTC is seeking an experienced Teaching Artist with a strong background in theatre and dance. Ideal candidates will:

-Have significant theatre experience, including performance and/or production work.

-Be an intermediate to advanced dancer, with proficiency in jazz and musical theatre styles.

-Have prior experience teaching children, preferably ages Kindergarten through middle school.

-Be skilled at reading a class and tailoring lessons to meet students’ individual needs while fostering creativity and growth.

-Show enthusiasm for inspiring students through storytelling, improvisation, and movement. Additional Information
