Popovsky Performing Arts Studio Seeking Piano Instructor

Job Summary: PPAS, Lancaster County's premier performing arts studio, is hiring a dynamic Piano Instructor to join its team. Popovsky Performing Arts (PPAS) was founded in 2007 and has continuously provided the highest-quality education and experiences for those looking to explore the performing arts. As an organization, we value collaboration, communication, and vivacious energy to bring the best out of our students and give them a fun and encouraging place to learn!  

Piano instructors teach weekly private lessons to students ranging from children to adults and beginners to professionals. They also prepare students for performances both internally and externally, communicate with clients and colleagues in a timely and professional manner, and bring an overall positive and purposeful energy to the studio community!

Job Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include: 
- Providing high-level and personalized instruction that considers a student’s goals, limitations, differences, or preferred level of commitment
- Professional communication with clients and colleagues
- Continuous growth as an instructor through continuing education, professional organizations, and experiences both in and outside of the studio
- Maintaining a detailed schedule of all lessons/classes
- Collaborating with other studio staff on performances, recitals, etc.
- Keeping detailed records of lessons taught
- Maintaining detailed communication with students and/or parents regarding lessons, assignments, students’ progress or support, and upcoming events or opportunities

Required Skills: 
- B.A. or B.F.A. in Music or Performing Arts with Piano as the major instrument of study OR ability to play piano at a professional level
- Prior experience teaching piano is strongly preferred
- Prior experience with accompanying and/or music directing strongly preferred
- Understanding of and passion to continue learning about piano pedagogy 
- Thorough understanding of music theory and ability to explain concepts in an age appropriate manner
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent self-management skills
- Strong collaborator
- Attention to detail & punctuality a must

Hourly rate is commensurate with experience.
