Overflowing with yearning and heartbreaking melancholy, Massenet’s most romantic tragedy is inspired by a true story of unrequited love. The passionate James Valenti returns to star as Werther, the idealistic young poet who cannot live without love. Roxana Constantinescu, who dazzled audiences as Cinderella, returns as the object of his obsession. Sung in French with English translations projected above the stage.
