The Barber of Seville at SWOR Auditorium

Rossini’s The Barber of Seville (Il barbiere di Siviglia, ossia L'inutile precauzione) is one of opera’s great comic masterpieces: fast, fizzy, and full of irresistible charm. Bursting with sparkling melodies, clever disguises, and breathless comic timing, this beloved opera follows the quick-witted barber Figaro as he helps Count Almaviva win the heart of the spirited Rosina. Standing in their way is the blustering Dr. Bartolo, whose plans unravel in a whirlwind of schemes, serenades, and delicious confusion.

From Figaro’s famous “Largo al factotum” to Rossini’s brilliant ensembles and rapid-fire patter, The Barber of Seville delights seasoned opera lovers and first-time audiences alike. Its humor is timeless, its characters unforgettable, and its music bubbles with pure theatrical joy.

A celebration of wit, romance, and comic mischief, The Barber of Seville proves that love is no match for a clever plan, a beautiful voice, and one very resourceful barber.
