Singing the story of cunning Odysseus at Theatre Studio

"Singing the story of Sly Ulysses" is the tale of adventure and rich in discoveries of "Odyssey" which, starting from the end of the Trojan war, follows the adventures of the warrior from "multiform" ingenuity in the Mediterranean, until the return to Ithaca.
The thread of the narrative scene passes through the episodes and characters best known poem of Homer-the giant Polyphemus, the Sirens, the bewitching sorceress Circe, the dog Argo, Telemachus and his beloved Penelope – whose image is suggested by the shaded figures scenic elements created by Emanuele Luzzati and produced by Teatro Gioco Vita.
The show, devised, and directed by Flavio Albanese, involves children in Homeric epic through fun, simple actions in dramatic composition solutions and scenic evocations that, thanks to the power of the word, recreate in the minds of young viewers a complex universe, populated by mythical beings and dominated by hostile gods, where Odysseus's journey is a metaphor of the journey that each of us takes in and out of sorts during their existence.
The magic of shadow theatre in the service of a text so evocative raises astonishment, fascination and never stops giving any time for reflection about man fighting against the fate and especially against himself.

"Singing the story of Sly Ulysses" has become a classic of junior programming of the Piccolo Teatro, a demonstration of how the power of myth, even in the 21st century, is able to suggest new reading keys to our past, orienting our future; suggestions that are also in the show by Bob Wilson Odissey, staged at the Teatro Strehler from 2 to 24 April 2013, creating the Director first met the ancient myth and archetypes.
