The West Cork Chamber Music Festival returns to Bantry for ten days of chamber music shaped around the theme Music in Time of War, with reflections on conflict, displacement and artistic resilience running through the programme. A special focus is given to Ukraine, represented by violinist Diana Tishchenko and pianist Anna Fedorova, alongside works by Ukrainian composers including the 88-year-old Valentin Silvestrov. The festival also marks 250 years of American independence through the invitation of the Calidore Quartet and Attacca Quartet and works by David Lang, Philip Glass and Caroline Shaw. Beyond main evening concerts, the programme includes lunchtime recitals, masterclasses, youth performances, premieres including a new quartet by Donnacha Dennehy, and a Festival Fringe with free concerts across West Cork.
