Flat Rock Playhouse Receives $40,000 Grant to Improve Theater Infrastructure
The grant will support the replacement or repair of the HVAC system serving the Blue Room in the Playhouse Education Building.
Flat Rock Playhouse has been awarded a grant of $40,000 by the Community Foundation of Henderson County.
According to Sam Yaeger Goodrum, Managing Director, the grant will support the replacement or repair of the HVAC system serving the Blue Room in the Playhouse Education Building, a vital space used for student arts education programs and mainstage production rehearsals. The project will help ensure a safe, comfortable environment for hundreds of students, artists, staff, volunteers, and community members who utilize the facility each year.
Goodrum states, “This grant from the Community Foundation of Henderson County addresses a critical infrastructure need and dramatically improves the experience for hundreds of students as well as the team of artists, staff, and volunteers who bring Flat Rock Playhouse productions to life. We are deeply grateful for their investment in both arts education and the future of our theatre.”
Flat Rock Playhouse, The State Theater of North Carolina, was founded in 1952 and enriches lives through the art of theatre by sustaining production excellence, nurturing talent, and inspiring creativity in an inclusive safe haven for artistic vision, life-long learning, and creative risk.
