Jack, his former wife Judy, and her famous poet father Howard relate the story of an authoritarian country which has targeted its cultural intelligentsia for imprisonment and execution. Shawn's 1996 cautionary tale feels more and more prophetic, challenging us to consider how far we are willing to go in service of our most deeply held beliefs in an increasingly dangerous world.

The Catastrophic Theatre will present a limited engagement of The Designated Mourner by Wallace Shawn, with performances from April 10 through April 25.
Eddie dreams of escape—from the office where he suffers at the hands of his co-workers, from a doctor whose treatments seem far worse than any medical complaint, perhaps from even the play itself!
