Main Street Theater opens its 50th season with Purlie Victorious: A Non-Confederate Romp through the Cotton Patch, a comedy by Ossie Davis. The story follows traveling preacher Purlie Victorious Judson, played by TiMOThY ERiC, as he attempts to save Big Bethel church and liberate the cotton pickers on a local plantation, aided by Lutiebelle Gussie Mae Jenkins, portrayed by Krystal Uchem. Directed by Errol Anthony Wilks, this production features a talented cast including Andrea Boronell-Hunter, Kendrick “KayB” Brown, and Seán Patrick Judge. The show runs from September 13 to October 12 at the Rice Village location.
