When a wealthy, reclusive and significantly grumpy heiress opens up her home to four writers competing for a $100,000 grant, truth quickly becomes stranger than fiction. Authors Anonymous finds the literary competition heating up between one writer of sleazy romance novels, another responsible for hard-boiled detective stories, a composer of corpse-filled murder mysteries and, lastly, an author of fiction so lofty and cerebral as to leave readers speechless (and not necessarily in a good way). As these four authors are evaluated by a secretary and a literary critic on hand to determine a winner, it becomes apparent that the decision will not be an easy one, because in this Theatre Suburbia comedy nothing is quite what it seems.
