BroadwayWorld Prediction Game
How It Works
Predict Broadway. Earn points. Climb the board.
The Game
Every week, BroadwayWorld poses a question about what happens next on Broadway. Will a show cross the million-dollar mark? Which of two hits grosses more? Does a closing get announced? You lock in a prediction before the deadline, then the real numbers and headlines decide who called it. Correct calls earn points and every point moves you up the season-long Forecasters leaderboard.
How to Play
- Log in or register — any free BroadwayWorld account can play. No roster, no draft, no setup.
- Read this week’s question — each question has two to four possible answers and its own closing time, shown right on the card.
- Lock in your call — pick an answer before the deadline. Change your mind as often as you like until the window closes.
- Watch the result land — once the outcome is known, the question is scored and you can see how every forecaster voted.
- Climb the leaderboard — points and accuracy accumulate all season. Most points at season’s end takes the title.
Scoring
- Most questions are worth +5 points. Some bigger calls are worth more — the value is shown on each question.
- There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so there is never a reason not to make a call.
- Your accuracy is correct answers divided by scored questions you answered. Skipped questions don’t count against it.
- Your streak counts consecutive correct calls, most recent first. A miss resets it; a skip doesn’t.
Timing
New questions usually open early in the week and close Sunday night at 11:59 PM ET, before the week’s box office numbers come out. Some questions run longer. The exact deadline is always shown on the question, and closed questions are scored as soon as the real result is in.
Current season: 2026-2027 Season (May 26, 2026 – May 31, 2027).
Plays Nicely With the Producer Fantasy Game
The Fantasy Forecast stands on its own, but it also powers the prediction side of the BroadwayWorld Producer Fantasy Game. If you’ve drafted a roster there, every forecast point you earn here is added to your Forecasters score and your Overall total — so a hot streak of correct calls can lift you on both boards at once.
Suggest a Question
Members can pitch their own Fantasy Forecast questions. Our editors review every suggestion, and the ones that run are credited to the member who suggested them — or shown as “suggested by a BroadwayWorld member” if you’d rather stay anonymous. The best questions have a clear answer that public information will settle within a week or two.
FAQ
- Do I need to play the Producer Fantasy Game?
- No. The Fantasy Forecast is its own game and is free for any BroadwayWorld member. If you also play the Producer Fantasy Game, your forecast points count toward its Forecasters and Overall boards automatically.
- Can I change my answer?
- Yes. You can update your pick as many times as you like until the question closes. Only your final answer counts.
- When are results posted?
- As soon as the real outcome is known. For box office questions that is usually when the weekly Broadway grosses are published, typically Monday or Tuesday.
- What if I miss a week?
- Nothing happens. There is no penalty for skipping a question, but it does reset your streak and you can only earn points on questions you answered.
- How are ties broken on the leaderboard?
- Players with the same points are ordered by more correct answers, then by fewer total answers, so the sharper record ranks higher.
- Where do the questions come from?
- The BroadwayWorld editorial team writes them each week from what is actually happening on Broadway: grosses, openings, closings, casting, awards and announcements. Members can also suggest questions, and the ones we run are credited to them.
- Can I play without an account?
- You can read every question and see how forecasters are voting, but locking in an answer needs a free BroadwayWorld account so your points and streak can be tracked.
