Finnish National Ballet is presenting Pulse, a dynamic triple bill that brings together three contemporary choreographic voices for a high-energy exploration of movement, rhythm, and identity. Running from April 24 through May 13, 2026, on the company’s Main Stage, the program blends ballet with street dance influences in a performance designed to appeal to both newcomers and seasoned audiences.

Featuring works by Julian Nicosia, Bintou Dembélé, and Larkin Poynton Olabarria, Pulse highlights the versatility and technical range of the company’s dancers. The evening opens with Nicosia’s Lips on the Ground, a contemporary piece set to recorded music. It is followed by Dembélé’s –en mode marron–, which draws on her groundbreaking work in street dance. The program concludes with Olabarria’s Hegoak, a piece that explores the tension between dreams and belonging through a movement language also rooted in street styles.

The production runs approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes, including a 30-minute intermission, and features a musical landscape that alternates between live orchestral performance and recorded tracks. Organizers note that some scenes include loud sound levels and bright, moving lights.

Beyond the stage, Pulse extends into a full evening experience, with pre- and post-show parties held in the Main Foyer. DJ SEBEN, known for genre-spanning sets that include hip hop, rap, baile funk, and afrobeats, will host both events, aiming to create an atmosphere of connection and celebration.

Tickets range from €24 to €104. The performance is recommended for ages 10 and up, with a minimum age of five for Main Stage attendance.
