The Kenny Leon Directing Fellowship at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre places an early- to mid-career, Atlanta-based director as assistant director on one mainstage production for roughly 10-12 weeks from pre-production through opening. The fellow attends virtual design meetings, supports the director in rehearsal and tech, helps stage management run understudy rehearsals, has bi-weekly mentorship check-ins with Artistic Director Tinashe Kajese-Bolden, and meets one-on-one with Kenny Leon. Compensation is $3,000 plus complimentary tickets, a free professional-development class and a parking pass; housing and travel are not provided.
Early to mid-career directors; must be Atlanta-based (no housing or travel support); degree in directing or 2-4 years equivalent experience recommended.
