Overview
The CUNY Fellowship is a partnership between The Public Theater and The City University of New York that offers recent graduates of any four-year CUNY campus a seven-month paid fellowship intended to diversify the pipeline of arts leaders. Each fellow is embedded in a Public Theater administrative department in their chosen discipline (past placements include Civic Artistic Programs, Development, Government Affairs, Joe's Pub, Marketing & Communications, New Work Development, Operations, and Producing) and receives professional development, network-building opportunities, and support in building a portfolio of work. The program is supported by the Miranda Family Fund and the National Endowment for the Arts; five 2026 fellows have been named and applications are currently closed.
Eligibility
Recent graduates of any four-year CUNY campus
Notes
Verified on Public Theater site; 2026 fellows named; applications currently closed. Supported by the Miranda Family Fund and NEA. No general (non-CUNY) administrative fellowship was found on the Public's site.
