SEEKING

Equity actors for WAM Theatre's 2023 Season (See breakdown). Actors for two supporting roles in our Spring
mainstage production and actors for several roles in our Spring play reading series. All genders (although WAM Theatre centers the stories of women and girls so there more women's roles than men's). Local Lenox actors are encouraged to audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary monologue and bring your headshot and resume stapled together.

Auditions will be scheduled in 10-minute slots. More auditions will also take place on Saturday Feb 11th.
Free on-site childcare will be provided on Friday Feb 10.

Note: No video auditions will be accepted at this time.

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition. Equity’s contracts prohibit discrimination. BREAKDOWN

Equity encourages everyone participating in the auditions to wear a two-ply cloth face mask, surgical
mask, singer’s mask or respirator (N95, KN95 or KF94). Single-ply face masks, gaiters and bandanas
are not recommended. Singer’s masks can be found at www.broadwayreliefproject.com/singersmask.
Equity encourages members to prepare for their audition prior to arriving at the audition venue, to the
extent that they can (e.g., get dressed, hair/make-up, etc.) to avoid crowding in bathrooms and
dressing rooms.

SEEKING:

HEIDI - already cast

DEBATER: (she/her); 14+, plays 15-16; Black, Indigenous or Person of Color; appears in Act 2 only;
preferable to have some onstage experience, whether that be in theatre, speech and debate or mock
trial or something equivalent; must be willing and enthusiastic to improvise and tell stories about
themselves onstage. Engaging, dynamic, smart, passionate and witty.

LEGIONNAIRE: (he/him) late 30’s-early 50’s; any ethnicity; Heidi’s friend; first appears as an
assertive American Legionnaire monitoring the speech and debate and a stickler for the rules/law. He
later turns into Heidi’s ally and assistant, playing himself. reflective, authentic, generous, positive male
energy. He moderates the debate in Part 2.

MIA: (she/her), Latinx, 18 yrs. Daughter of LEA, current freshman at Berkeley.

MOISES: (he/him), Latinx. 30's-50's. Resident of Chama, CO, and business owner.

OUTSIDERS: (he/him), White, 30's. Plays PRIEST, DAVID, POSTMAN, INQUISITOR, STRANGER
and others.
