Please prepare 16 bars of a musical selection and provide clearly marked sheet music, in the correct key, for the accompanist. Prerecorded accompaniment or a cappella auditions will not be allowed.
Bring a current non-returnable picture and resume.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Disney Parks Talent Casting is seeking Ensemble Vocalists of all ethnicities for a holiday cast of The Voices of Liberty for The Candlelight Processional.
This eight part vocal ensemble sings in tight harmonies as part of a mass choir and orchestra which retells the story of Christmas, narrated by a celebrity guest at Epcot® in the Walt Disney World® Resort near Orlando, FL.
Extreme vocal range and control, sight singing and quick study memorization skills are essential.
Performers are under seasonal contracts between November and December 2012. Potential relocation and housing may be available to qualified performers hired into specific roles.
Callbacks will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in Orlando, FL. Performers invited to callbacks must attend in order to qualify for potential employment.
United Kingdom Pavilion - Father Christmas:
(Male) Jolly Father Christmas shares traditional tales of decorating with boughs of holly and sending Christmas cards, both traditions that began in the United Kingdom. Male gregarious portly actor with jovial nature and talent for storytelling.
China Pavilion - Monkey King: (Male) The famous and agile Monkey King can weave a tall tale with twists and turns. Male, physical, graceful performer with good comedic timing
Italy Pavilion-La Befana:
(Female) La Befana represents Italy's Christmas folklore. She comes down the chimney of the bambinos and leaves treats. She tells the sweet story of the celebration of the Epiphany in Italy. Heartfelt, female actor with strong interactive skills.
Morocco Pavilion- Taarji:
(Male) Taarji, a storytelling drummer, shares the meaning of Ramadan, and tells the story of the nightly celebration which occurs when the fast is broken. Male actor with preferred strong drumming ability. Interactive performing skills are essential.
Canada Pavilion– Papa Noel:
(Male) Papa Noel tells the story of Christmas in Canada. Male actor, robust outdoorsman type, with fun nature and passion to share his performance.
Norway Pavilion - Sigrid:
(Female) Tells the story of Bergen, her town, and the snowy nights and warm fires along with the wonderful creatures known as nisse or gnomes. Warm, friendly female actor with the ability to react off other actors while moving the story forward.
Norway Pavilion - Julenissen:
(Male) Is a feisty, fun and legendary gnome that tells his version of Christmastime in Norway while teasing Sigrid. Male, strong comedic actor.
Mexico Pavilion– Juan, Carlos & Miguel:
(Male) Three Storytellers who assume the roles of the Three Kings, Melchior, Gaspar & Balthazaar during the interactive storytelling of Dia de Los Tres Reyes Mago. Three male actors who interact together and with the audience. Strong interactive skills are essential. Some Spanish speaking is required.
American Adventure Pavilion– Chanukah Storyteller:
Chanukah is a time for family and friends that is steeped in rich traditions. This storyteller tells the story of the eight day festival of lights with guests at American Adventure. Male or Female genuine and personable actor with strong delivery
American Adventure Pavilion - Kwanzaa Storyteller:
Kwanzaa Storyteller shares the cultural and spiritual celebration known as Kwanzaa.
Male or Female engaging and warm actor with presentational speaking skills.
Japan Pavilion – Daruma Vendor:
The Daruma Vendor entertains guests as she tells the story of Japanese New Year and the history of the Daruma. Physical actor with authentic character portrayal and high energy. Knowledge of the Japanese language a plus.
Germany Pavilion– Germany Storyteller:
Learn about the traditions of Christmas trees and of St. Nicholas while experiencing an appearance by a special guest. Male or Female authentic and likeable portrayal with interactive storytelling skills essential.
France Pavilion - Pere Noël:
(Male) Pere Noël wishes everyone a "Joyeux Noël!" He reads letters written to him from children and relives a magical evening. Strong, interactive male actor with authentic French accent.
