CONTRACT

SPT Tier 6; $425/week + health/pension/transportation (AEA) All rehearsals and performances will take place at the South Orange Performing Art Center (SOPAC), a 35 minute train ride from Penn Station. Trainfare will be reimbursed for all rehearsals and performances.

SEEKING

Equity actors. There are 5 AEA contracts available.

(Stage manager positions are all currently available. Interested stage managers may attend EPA for a brief interview.)

PREPARATION
Preparation: Please prepare a brief musical theatre selection/excerpt (about a minute) in the style of the score. Please bring a headshot/resume.

There are 5 AEA contracts available. The theatre intends to cast the following 5 roles under AEA contracts:

[FRANCESCA] female, mid-30s to early 40s. An Italian woman who comes to America. Generous, luminous, beautiful, and funny, she is now married to a farmer and living in Iowa. G3-Gb5. (theatre intends to cast this role under AEA contract)

[ROBERT KINCAID] male, mid-30s to early 40s. A ruggedly handsome, worldly, visionary photographer. Classic folk balladeer, strong high baritone (belt to G). (theatre intends to cast this role under AEA contract)

[RICHARD “BUD JOHNSON] male, 40s, Francesca's husband. An Iowa farmer, a good guy, diligent and dependable, but always exhausted and irritated that things haven't gotten easier. Country high baritone (belt F#). (theatre intends to cast this role under AEA contract)

[MARGE] female, 40-60. Francesca's neighbor, sassy and nosy. Strong vocalist - G3 to C5.(theatre intends to cast this role under AEA contract)

[CHARLIE] male, 50-65. Marge's husband. Solid, folksy baritone - E3 to C4. (theatre intends to cast this role under AEA contract)

The following roles are intended to be cast as non-AEA

[MARIAN/CHIARA] female, late 20s to early 30s. Marian is Robert's former wife, a musician in the Joni Mitchell vein. Chiara is Francesca's sister still living in Italy. Thrilling and versatile folk-pop voice. A3-D5. (THEATRE INTENDS TO CAST THIS ROLE NON-EQUITY.)

[MICHAEL] male, 18+ to play 16. Francesca and Bud's son. E3-A4. (THEATRE INTENDS TO CAST THIS ROLE NON-EQUITY.)

[CAROLYN] female, 18+ to play 14. Francesca and Bud's daughter. Country/rock belter with fluid soprano, A3-C5. (THEATRE INTENDS TO CAST THIS ROLE NON-EQUITY.)

[ENSEMBLE] Townspeople. (THEATRE INTENDS TO CAST THESE ROLES NON-EQUITY.)
