Roles are currently available unless stated otherwise

SUBTLE – MALE, 30-50. A con man. Mercurial, theatrical, a combination street magician and travelling player who employs an array of voices, accents, costumes and attitudes. A mixture of John Barrymore and Snoop Dogg. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

FACE – MALE, 30-50. The perfect gentleman’s gentleman. A butler, he has the deadpan we associate with the best characters of the genre: Jeeves, Hudson, Alfred. He too has a gift for impersonation, and beneath the deadpan exterior is a sly, agile mind.

SIR EPICURE MAMMON – MALE. 40-60. A broad and swirling caricature of a rich and foolish man. Drunk on his ambitions and aspirations, full to the brim with rhetorical excess. Greedy, ravenous, lustful. Plummy and fleshy. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

DOL COMMON – FEMALE, 30-50. Commonly called a wench, bawd or prostitute, she is full-bodied and full-throated, and although her persona in repose is that of a Cockney barmaid, she can play anyone from a high-born lady to a would-be Shirley Bassey. Must sing well.

DAPPER – MALE, 20-50. A lawyer’s clerk who is trying too hard to come across as an elegant, sophisticated gentleman and gets things wrong. He is too eager to impress and too willing to please. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

DRUGGER – MALE. 20-40. A gentle soul, he was hit on the head too many times when a baby. His brain may be slow, but he can speak and move quickly when a fire is lit under him. In this case, the fire of success and marrying the woman of his dreams make his wide-eyes wider. Slight and perky. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

SURLY – MALE, 30-60. A cynical man about town. He’s seen it all and done it all. When he plays the Spaniard, he does so with a ridiculous Spanish accent and Castillian lisp. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

ANANIAS – MALE, 20-50. A dark-visaged religious maniac. Angry, humorless, self-important and convinced of his own righteousness. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

KASTRIL – MALE, 20-30. A rich boy from the country, but wealth has done nothing to his country manners. He’s one of those unblinking types who wants what he wants now. He doesn’t have much range of emotion, but he is loud. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.

DAME PLIANT – FEMALE, 20-30. Young, beautiful, she speaks like a gentle virgin, but it’s a good bet she isn’t. She’s able to do much more than we expect and a lot more than we’ll see. THIS ROLE IS ALREADY CAST.
