Tent Theatre 2013 Season – Equity Principal Auditions

Equity Principal Auditions:

Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Ripley-Grier Studios

10 AM – 6 PM 520 8th Ave., 16^th floor (holding 16L)

Lunch from 1:30 – 2:30 New York, NY

Prepare either 1) a short musical selection from Broadway's Golden Age; Bring sheet music in correct key; accompanist provided but may not transpose; OR 2) a brief comedic monologue; or 3) 16 bars of a song from the Golden Age and a 1-minute monologue.

Bring picture and resume, stapled together.

A big man, slick and agile – a loud braggart, a gentle dreamer. A consummate salesman. (Leading Man - baritone)

The sheriff. He is a lean man, reticent, intelligent, in his 30s. He smiles wryly at the world and himself. Perhaps he is a little bitter; if so, his bitterness is leavened by a mischievous humor. (Supporting - baritone)

60ish. Widow of former mayor. Grand Dame.

DAMN YANKEES

First Rehearsal June 24. Opens July 11, closes July 21.

Joe Hardy

The 22-year-old, home run hitting alter ego of Joe Boyd. A good guy who loves that he is living out his dream, but deeply misses the life and love he left behind. Leading Male, 20-30 yrs old. Range: A3 - G5

Mr. Applegate

The Devil in disguise as a slick salesman. A controlling, greedy smooth talker. Leading Male, 40-50 yrs old. Range: A3 - G5

Lola

The Devil's seductress assistant. Sexy and confident. Falls in love with Joe when her usual tricks don’t work on him. Though she’s done many bad things, she is a good person deep down inside. Leading Female, 25-35 yrs old. Range: F3 - G5
