Equity actors/singers, two male, two female, for production based on the book STARS OF DAVID: Prominent Jews Talk About Being Jewish by Abigail Pogrebin.

Please prepare two contrasting 16-bar pieces. Actors will be asked to read from sides from production.

Featuring the Stories of: Marilyn & Alan Bergman, Edgar Bronfman Sr., Andy Cohen, Kenneth Cole, Fran Drescher, Michael Feinstein, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Tony Kushner, Norman Lear, Leonard Nimoy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ruth Reichl, Joan Rivers, Aaron Sorkin and Gloria Steinem.
The performing ensemble is comprised of four actor/singers who portray all of the interview subjects; high profile people of Jewish descent. NOTE: They do not imitate the celebrities whose words they enliven in songs. Rather, they embody the spirit and sensibility.
MALE 1: 20s – 30s: He plays a number of the famous interview subjects, including Tony Kushner, Aaron Sorkin, Dustin Hoffman, and Andy Cohen. Seeking excellent comic actor singer with pop tenor voice.
MALE: 2: Late 30s – early 50s: He plays a number of the famous interview subjects, whose transcripts have been turned into songs – including Michael Feinstein, Alan Bergman, Stephen Spielberg, Kenneth Cole, Norman Lear and Edgar Bronfman. Seeking excellent comic actor singer (bari-tenor)
FEMALE 1: 20s – 30s: She plays a number of the famous interview subjects, whose transcripts have been turned into songs – including Fran Drescher, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Natalie Portman. Seeking excellent comic actor singer with pop belt voice.
FEMALE 2: Late 30s – 50s: She plays a number of the famous interview subjects, whose transcripts have been turned into songs – including Gloria Steinem, Joan Rivers, Kitty Carlyle Hart, and Beverly Sills. Seeking excellent comic actor singer (Alto/high belt)
